Alaska is NOT a microcosm of America

"Everybody thinks Alaska is a foreign country, but it's not. Alaska is the microcosm of America."-- Sarah Palin

Does she really live in Alaska, I wonder? I've been there, and recently too. Alaska is NOT bustling with people. Where bears outnumber humans, her constituents are largely pine trees. This mock candidate is simply a publicity ploy to make an ugly old white man seem hip and in touch with this generation. She is not the right woman to hold any office, no less a stone throw distance to the White House.

We already have an idiot and tyrant as our leaders, do we need another pair? Haven't we suffered enough? Why does this seem to make sense to only half of this country? Have we forgotten to look at principles, credibility, credentials, resumes? Or are we only looking at the surface? Seventy-five years ago, we elected a man in a wheel chair. His name was Franklin D. Roosevelt. I understand appearance is everything, but can we get past black or white, man vs woman....and just get to the fregin issues?? Will the media do their job and push statistics (not about how well liked they are, or pushing fabricated photo-ops as Sarah Palin uses her children as sob stories), but rather focuses on how they voted on foreign policy issues, the conflicts of interests they might have, the legislation they've been able to pass, etc. Does hard hitting journalism even exist anymore? Where's our Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein??

[I certainly can't do it. My blood pressure is rising just pondering the sh_thole we've gotten ourselves into and the bigger ditch we'll be digging if we don't see ourselves out of this Republican party...This is why I no longer write about politics, and let the calmer folk take the lead...much more to say, but I'm the working poor. So, back to work I go.]
